Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2025 · UK Money Tools · ukmoneytools.pages.dev
The short version: Our calculators run entirely in your browser. We never see, store or transmit any financial figures you enter. Your salary, pension, mortgage and tax data stays on your device.
1. Who We Are
UK Money Tools ("we", "us", "our") is a free collection of UK tax and finance calculators available at ukmoneytools.pages.dev. The site is operated as an independent project and is not affiliated with HMRC, the UK government or any financial institution.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect very little personal data. Specifically:
- Financial inputs (salary, tax figures, etc.): Processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. These figures are never sent to our servers, never stored in a database and we never see them.
- Email address: If you voluntarily subscribe to our email list via the Kit form, your email is stored by Kit (ConvertKit) in accordance with their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand which calculators are most useful. This collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, approximate location, device type). No financial inputs are captured by analytics.
- Advertising: We display advertisements via third-party ad networks (Google AdSense, Adsterra and others). These networks may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out via your browser settings or tools like the Google Ad Settings page.
3. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure usage (anonymised)
- Advertising cookies — set by ad network partners to serve and measure ads
- No essential session cookies — our calculators require no login and set no authentication cookies
You can refuse cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Refusing advertising cookies may result in less relevant ads but will not affect the functionality of any calculator.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:
5. Affiliate Links
Some pages contain affiliate links to Amazon and other services, identified with "sponsored" in the link attributes. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This does not affect our editorial independence — we do not recommend products we do not believe are relevant to our users.
6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Because we collect minimal personal data, most UK GDPR rights are straightforward to exercise:
- Right of access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your email from our mailing list at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
- Right to object — opt out of analytics and advertising cookies via your browser settings
- Right to complain — you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
7. Data Retention
We do not store financial inputs. Email addresses on our mailing list are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymised analytics data is retained for 26 months as per Google Analytics defaults.
8. Children
UK Money Tools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle data, please contact us at hello@ukmoneytools.co.uk.
This privacy policy was written for UK Money Tools and is governed by UK law. It covers only this website and not any third-party sites linked from it.
